Degas Schoolgirl with Purse and Hat
Degas Schoolgirl with Purse and Hat
Successfully capturing the half-shy, half-saucy manner of a French schoolgirl with purse and had, Edgar Degas (French, Impressionism / Realism, 1834–1917) modeled the original wax statuette about 1881. Our reproduction is based on a 1956 bronze case of the original, now in the Metropolitan Museum's collection. Licensed reproduction made from bonded bronze, hand patinated. Height including base 11 1/4 in.
